Job Description

The candidate will be required to develop groundnut plants with improved oil quality using a CRISPR-Cas9 genome activation approach. He/she will be responsible for designing and generating CRISPR based plant transformation constructs/gene cassettes. He/she will also work on plant tissue culture, transformation and characterization of putative transgenic plants. The candidate will utilize biolistic method of gene transfer in plants. He/she will have an opportunity

to collaborate/interact with plant scientists of different domains at National and International level. The candidate should be highly motivated, independent and a continuous learner. The candidate will also be expected to assist the Principal Investigator in other projects, writing reports/grants for the funding agencies and guiding graduate and undergraduate students.
